About Us

Ken Killen

Born and raised in Northeast Louisiana, Ken learned early on why Louisiana is nicknamed “Sportsman’s Paradise!” He spent countless hours hunting small game, ducks and deer, as well as fishing in nearby lakes and the Mississippi River. His Dad was an avid outdoorsman and he passed this legacy down to his son.

After attending LSU, Ken came home to begin farming and managing family property. That is all he ever planned to do, but soon found that the challenges of Mother Nature and crop prices were beyond his control. He utilized the shop on the farm to begin building deer stands to supplement his income and to keep the farm labor busy during the winter months. Little did he know that this would turn into a thriving competitive business that would allow him to quit farming and move forward. After only one year into this project, StrongBuilt was formed and the demand for StrongBuilt deer stands was more than Ken ever imagined. After 21 years of successful business, StrongBuilt International now provides deer stands, gun safes and other hunting accessories.

As both a rifle and bow hunter, Ken travels throughout the US and Canada each year hunting and has accumulated quite a video collection to journal his hunts. He has filmed and distributed four StrongBuilt product DVD’s, which each shows approximately 25 hunts using StrongBuilt products as well as sponsored products. His experience from filming hunting adventures and his new friendship with Ray Boone and Ted Jaycox stirred his interest to become involved in StrongBuilt’s World of Hunting. He hopes to bring something new and exciting each week to the show!

Robert Beall

Nobody is more enthusiastic about the great outdoors than Robert Beall. Born in Texas, he grew up hunting small game on the family farm. As a young boy, he loved going to south Texas to hunt Whitetail deer. This love grew into a passion that would lead him into the hunting industry, which would give him the opportunity to take every possible chance to be in the woods he so enjoys.

After serving his country for four years as a solider in the United States Army, Robert became a professional hunting guide. Over the past eight years, he has lead groups throughout Texas, Oregon and Mexico. Robert has also hunted big game all over the United States and Canada. A genuine sportsman true to form, he is an active member of the Pope & Young Club, the ASA Club, the NWTF, as well as a member of the NRA.

Today, Robert resides in Grand Saline, Texas with his wife Lindsey and their son, Robbie. Robert eagerly shares his love of the great outdoors with his wife and son, as well as everyone with whom he comes in contact. Robert often says, “I love nothing more than to introduce a kid into our great sport of hunting.” In 2006, Robert met Ken Killen and Ray Boone of the popular outdoor television show, StrongBuilt’s World of Hunting. Always excited to take on a new challenge in his career, Robert agreed to become a co-host on the show. Whether he is letting arrows fly or black powder burn, Robert Beall, the youngest member of the team, will certainly have viewers tuning in each week to catch the action, and to enjoy his Texas-style sense of humor!

William Russell

William Russell, raised on a farm near San Antonio, Texas came from a ranching family with a long legacy of hunting and managing wildlife. William found hunting in his blood as a child when he was either making homemade bows and spears or riding around the ranches hunting with his parents. Since old enough to hold a gun William has been hunting the wide range of game animals offered by the varying terrains of Texas. He has also hunted and fished in across America, Canada, and Argentina, and has been on several safaris in Africa, mentored by top game biologists and game managers. Books on tracking, hunting, and survival in the wild have been an inspiration in his quest to learn as much as possible about land and wildlife. William has been particularly attracted to extreme hunting experiences that are physically and mentally demanding. The more dangerous or difficult the better.

William attended and captained the lacrosse team at Trinity University. In 2005 William began participating in ultra marathon canoe and kayak races. Since then he has participated in races in Texas, New York, Michigan, Belize, and Panama. Recently in 2009 William and his team won the famed Texas Water Safari “World’s Toughest Canoe Race” 260 miles of non-stop paddling. William is among the top distance racers in the world and his experience in these races has given him a “Never Quit” attitude that has brought him success on his hunts. Shortly after graduating from Trinity in 2007 he purchased professional video equipment and began filming his own hunts with hopes that they could be on aired on TV shows. William hit it off with Robert and Ken on a deer hunt in Kansas where he was asked to join the World of Hunting team.
